Founder & Senior National Arbiter
Vidya B is a passionate chess educator whose journey with the game began at the age of 10. What started as a childhood fascination soon became a lifelong mission—to inspire young minds through chess and help them develop confidence, discipline, logical thinking, and sportsmanship.
With years of coaching experience, Vidya has worked alongside reputed chess academies in Chennai while mentoring hundreds of students, especially beginners and young learners. Her coaching philosophy focuses on building strong fundamentals, nurturing analytical thinking, and making the learning process enjoyable and engaging for every child.
Driven by her vision to make quality chess education more accessible, she founded Saturangam360 Chess Academy. The academy was established with the belief that chess is much more than a game—it is a powerful tool for developing concentration, decision-making, patience, creativity, and resilience in children. Under her leadership, the academy provides structured training for players of all levels while fostering a positive and competitive learning environment.
Vidya is a Senior National Chess Arbiter, reflecting her extensive knowledge of tournament regulations and fair play. In addition to coaching, she actively contributes to the chess community by organizing and officiating competitive events. She has successfully conducted three State-Level Chess Tournaments, with events recognized and approved by both the Chennai District Chess Association (CDCA) and the Tamil Nadu State Chess Association (TNSCA).
Her dedication extends beyond teaching moves on the chessboard. She believes every child has the potential to excel when guided with patience, encouragement, and the right mentorship. Through Saturangam360 Chess Academy, she continues her mission of nurturing the next generation of confident thinkers and accomplished chess players.
